  1. Mike's Configuration Script

  4. This is my autoexec.cfg for a 4 button joystick and 3 button mouse.
  5.  
  6. The mouse is used for looking/aiming and the joystick for moving/strafing.
  7.  
  8. You will need my program "joy2key2", available from
  9. ftp.cdrom.com/pub/quake/utils/misc or a mirror site. It maps the joystick
  10. movements to the arrow keys. You must click button 1 on the joystick 3 times
  11. when Quake asks you to calibrate the joystick, otherwise Quake won't read
  12. the joystick buttons. (The autoexec.cfg then turns off joystick movement
  13. detection with "joystick 0" because my program maps the movements to the
  14. arrow keys.)
  15. The bindings are as follows:

  17. JOY1 jump
  18. JOY2 Nightscope
  19. JOY3 X-Ray Vision
  20. JOY4 Wideview

  22. MOUSE1 attack
  23. MOUSE2 Best Weapon / Best Gun (alternates between functions)
  24. (This is the only alias I claim credit for. The best weapon in your possession
  25. is chosen eg. rocket launcher or the best gun is chosen - out of shotgun,
  26. super shotgun, nailgun or super nailgun. There are times eg. next to walls
  27. with the rocket launcher or underwater with the thunderbolt, when the best
  28. gun is more useful.)
